Waist training is when you wear a constricting garment to reduce the size of your waist. “Medically, it doesn’t make sense that cinching your waist tightly will make it permanently smaller” says Dr Mary Jane Minkin, M.D., clinical professor of ob-gyn at Yale School of Medicine. “Once you take the garment off, your body will return to its usual shape. Wearing a waist trainer can compress your internal organs such as liver, kidneys and lungs and can lead to improper organ functioning that can be detrimental to your health. Shedding excess fat requires you to follow a proper nutritional diet, exercise plan and most importantly to be consistent, after all it takes effort, hard work and dedication to really get what we want in life.
